Quotes

Kevin Knox on if he is enjoying his time in Boise: “Yes, I’m really enjoying myself here. Idaho, there’s not much to do here, but I’m enjoying it. First time to be in this state. I’m here to play basketball, get these two wins and get back to Lexington with two Ws.”

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on not shooting well from outside: “That’s the biggest thing about this team, we can play so bad offensively but still win because we have so many other things we do well.”

Takeaway

“Sacha is playing better and better” That is what John Calipari had to say about Sacha Killeya-Jones. Killeya-Jones scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds in 25 minutes in UK’s win over Davidson. SKJ is not a starter but he was playing so well Calipari started him in the 2nd half.

Wenyen Gabriel knew Killeya-Jones was capable because he had shown it in practice and now he is earning  game time, “He started to get his chances, he’s slowing been showing glimpses. He’s starting to put it together now and I’m happy for him.”

Killeya-Jones still sees himself as an energy player, “My role is to just be the spark plug for the team.”  The last step for Killeya-Jones is hitting a few jumpers, something he has shown he can do. If that happens he can go from having a role on this Kentucky team to moving into a staring one.
