One of the best players in Kentucky baseball history is again ranked among the top prospects in Major League Baseball.
Evan White of the Seattle Mariners is ranked as the 56th best prospect in all of baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.
White is also ranked as the second-best prospect in the Seattle minor league system.
White played at Kentucky for three seasons (2015-2017). His best year came in 2017 as he hit .373 with 10 home runs and 41 RBI’s. With a big season, he helped lead Kentucky to their first Super Regional in program history, where they lost to Louisville.
In 2019, White played 93 games at Double-A Northwest Arkansas, where he hit .293 with 18 home runs and 55 RBI’s.
Despite not yet playing in a big-league game, Seattle signed White to a six-year $24 million extension to be their future first basemen.
White is expected to make his big league debut in 2020 as a member of the Mariners opening day roster.
