The No. 13 Kentucky women’s basketball team was just delivered a blow Thursday.

UK confirmed Rhyne Howard will be sidelined until mid-February with a fractured finger in her left hand.

Howard has had a dominant sophomore season as her 22.5 points per game ranks third in the nation. She has also averaged 6.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

With Howard leading the charge, Kentucky has posted a 16-3 record overall record and are 5-2 in conference play.

With Howard out, Kentucky will need players such as Sabrina Haines, Keke McKinney and Blair Green to step up and keep the team afloat.

The Lady Wildcats will be in action tonight when they take on Missouri in Columbia and then will return to Memorial Coliseum to take on the Florida Gators Sunday afternoon.
