The Kentucky Wildcats football program put the finishing touches on a historic 2020 recruiting by adding four-star running back Michael Drennen II.
Drennen is a native of Dublin, Ohio and chose Kentucky over the University of Southern California (USC). He is rated as a four-star prospect by 247 sports and as the fourth-best player in the state of Ohio.
The running back will become the highest-rated skill position player to sign with Kentucky since Lynn Bowden Jr. did so in 2017.
By adding Drennen, Kentucky may have an instant impact weapon as he is also known for his ability to play the slot receiver position. He likely won’t get much time at running back as a true freshman with A.J. Rose, Chris Rodriguez, Kavosiey Smoke and Travis Tisdale returning.
Drennen joins fellow Ohio native Jutahn McClain as the lone running backs signed by the Cats for 2020.
