The No. 15 Kentucky Wildcats (17-5, 7-2) will travel south down I-75 to take on the Tennessee Volunteers (13-9, 5-4) Saturday at Thomas-Bowling Arena.
Kentucky will roll into Knoxville fresh off an 80-72 victory over Mississippi State at Rupp Arena Tuesday and look to stay within a game for the top spot in the SEC.
As for Tennessee, they snapped a three-game losing streak with a 69-68 win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa Tuesday.
Rocky Top has not been kind to the Cats in recent years as Kentucky has lost each of their last four games at Thomas-Bowling Arena. Overall, the Vols have had Kentucky’s number of late winning four of the six previous matchups, including a victory in the 2019 SEC Tournament semifinals.
In those games, Tennessee was guided by a trio of Admiral Schofield, Grant Williams and Jordan Bone. All of those players are now in the pros, but the Vols still have plenty of weapons such as Jordan Bowden and SEC block leader Yves Pons that can make life difficult on opposing teams’.
Before boarding the bus to Knoxville, John Calipari, Immanuel Quickley and Tyrese Maxey previewed the matchup with the Vols. Hear from all three Wildcats below courtesy of the Boot Store.
