The Kentucky Wildcats will travel home to Lexington winless as Sunday the TCU Horned Frogs finished off a three-game sweep of the Cats with a 10-5 victory.
TCU got to Kentucky starting pitcher Dillon Marsh early as in the bottom of the second; the Horned Frogs plated five runs highlighted by a three-run bases-clearing double from Tommy Sacco.
The Horned Frogs would tack on another run off Marsh in the bottom of the fourth as Zach Humphreys scored on a throwing error by Kentucky third basemen John Rhodes.
Down 6-0, Kentucky found the scoreboard in the top the fifth as designated hitter Trae Harmon smashed a solo home run to left field to cut the lead to 6-1. Later in the inning, Kentucky added a second run as Austin Schultz hit a single to score Jaren Shelby to make it a 6-2 game.

Unfortunately for Kentucky, TCU answered back in each of the next three innings. Both Gene Wood and Gray Rodgers hit solo home runs off of UK reliever Zack Lee to make it 8-2. Then in the bottom of the seventh, Wood hit his second solo homer of the day off of Cole Daniels to extend the lead to 9-2.
In the top of the eighth, Kentucky added a pair of runs as Harmon and Tj Collett hit RBI singles to cut the lead to 9-4.
After TCU added a run in the bottom of the eighth, Kentucky continued to fight in the top of the ninth as Oraj Anu plated Shelby with a fielder’s choice, but it would be too little and too late as TCU finished the three-game sweep.
The Wildcats will be back in action Tuesday for their home opener at Kentucky Proud Park as Southeast Missouri State will come to town for one game.
