The Kentucky Wildcats suffered a stunning defeat Tuesday as they fell to the Tennessee Volunteers by a score of 81-73 in the final game at Rupp Arena this season.

Kentucky dominated the first half from the jump as they took a 42-31 lead into the halftime locker room and led by as many 17 in the second half but could not put away a determined Tennessee squad who outscored the Cats 50-31 in the second half.

UK had no answer for Vols forward John Fulkerson. The redshirt junior scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed six rebounds. Josiah-Jordan James (16) and Yves Pons (15) also scored in double figures for the Vols.

Tyrese Maxey led the way for the Wildcats with 21 points while Immanuel Quickley added 15. In the loss, Kentucky was out rebounded 31-26 and committed 14 turnovers.

Kentucky (24-6, 14-3) will wrap up the regular season Saturday when they travel to the Swamp to take on the Florida Gators.
