The Kentucky Baseball weekend schedule has been adjusted.
This weekends’ Kentucky Baseball series against Bradley University has been canceled so that the Braves can attend the funeral of former pitcher Mitch Janssen who died in an Illinois plane crash Tuesday.
Jasen pitched at Bradley for four seasons. As a senior in 2019, he earned All-Missouri Valley Conference second-team honors as a starting pitcher
“On behalf of Kentucky baseball and all of Big Blue Nation, we offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Janssen family, Bradley baseball and the entire Bradley University community,” UK head coach Nick Mingione said in a statement via UK Athletics.
Instead of a three-game series with the Braves, Kentucky will host Norfolk State (2-9) Saturday at 6 p.m. EST and then play a doubleheader with Oakland University (2-8) Sunday with game one starting at 1 p.m. EST.
All games will be televised on SEC Network + and aired on 98.5 FM.
