More change is coming to Mark Stoops Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff. The Cats Pause reports wide receivers coach Micheal Smith will not return to UK.

With Smith out, Cats Illustrated reports that Kentucky plans to hire Oregon wide receivers coach Jovon Bouknight to replace him.

Smith joined the Kentucky coaching staff in 2018. Before coming to Lexington, he coached at his alma mater Kansas State, as well as Arizona and Arkansas. In 2018, Lynn Bowden caught 67 passes for 745 yards under Smith’s guidance, but Kentucky’s offense leaned almost entirely on the running game in 2019, taking much of their wide receiver production away.

Bouknight was at Oregon for just one season but had spent 10 seasons in various positions on the Utah State coaching staff from 2009-2018.

Despite the hire of Bouknight, Stoops still has one more coaching position to fill as the team still does not have a special teams coordinator.
