Immanuel Quickley was named the SEC Player of the Year and named to the All-SEC First Team. The sophomore guard averaged 16.1 points per game with 4.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
Kentucky center Nick Richards also took home a pair of honors. The seven-footer joined Quickley on the All-SEC First Team and was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team. After a pair of rough seasons, Richards had a breakout junior campaign that saw him average 14 points with 7.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.
Tyrese Maxey became the third Wildcat to take home a pair of honors. The freshman guard was named to the All-SEC Second Team and All-SEC Freshman team. Maxey entered the season as Kentucky’s highest-rated recruit. He averaged 14 points per gar game with 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
Ashton Hagans also earned a league award as he joins Richards on the SEC All-Defensive Team. The sophomore point guard has averaged 3.9 rebounds per game with 1.9 steals.
Finally, head coach John Calipari is the SEC Coach of the Year. It marks his fourth time taking home the honor (2010, 2012 and 2015).
The league champion Cats will begin their quest for an SEC Tournament crowd Friday against either Alabama or Tennessee.
