Former Kentucky defensive tackle Cavon Butler has found his new home. Butler, who entered the transfer portal on May 1, announced on Twitter Tuesday that he has committed to his hometown school: the University of Toledo.

Butler arrived in Lexington as a three-star prospect in 2019. He held offers from Ohio State, Alabama and Michigan State, among others, but chose the Wildcats instead. As a true freshman, he made just one total tackle as a true freshman and held onto his redshirt as he did not play more than the four-game limit.

He will now head to the MAC and Toledo to play for a Rockets program coming off a 6-6 2019 season that included a 38-14 week one loss to the Wildcats.

Butler is the second of five post-spring transfers for the Wildcats to announce his future plans Davoan “Day Day” Hawkins announced he will transfer to Tennessee State on Sunday.

The other Wildcats still in the transfer portal are Amani GilmoreMarvin ‘B.J.’ Alexander and Drew Schlegel.
