The Kentucky Wildcats did not have a player drafted in the condensed 2020 MLB Draft, but at least one has found a pro home. Relief Pitcher Carson Coleman has signed a free agent contract with the New York Yankees per multiple sources.

Coleman was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 33rd round of the 2019 Draft but opted to return to UK for his Redshirt Junior season.
He pitched in six games out of the bullpen during Kentucky’s shortened 2020 season posting a 3.18 ERA while holding batters to a .190 average against in 5.2 innings of work.
By signing with the Yankees, Coleman will forgo his final year of eligibility at Kentucky. He finishes his college career with a career 4.19 ERA and a 5-5 record.
