John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats have landed their first commitment of their 2021 recruiting class.

Saturday, four-star point guard Nolan Hickman committed to the Wildcats despite offers from Kansas, Arizona, Oklahoma, UCLA and several others.

Hickman is originally from Seattle, Washington, but is playing his high school basketball at the Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah. He is ranked as the third-best point guard in the nation for 2021 by 247sports and the 30th overall prospect in the country.

The point guard was recruited by UK assistant Tony Barbee and is the first prospect to commit to the Cats since Kenny Payne left to take an assistant role with the New York Knicks.

Kentucky is expected to add another four-star prospect in the near future as multiple reports state former Louisville commit and power forward Bryce Hopkins could commit to the Cats.

As of now, Kentucky’s one-man class ranks 41st in the nation and eighth in the SEC per 247.
