John Calipari’s recent recruiting roll continued Saturday as the Kentucky Wildcats landed a commitment from five-star power forward Daimion Collins.

Collins is a native of Atlanta, Texas, who ranks 19th nationally in the 2021 recruiting class per 247sports, is the fifth-ranked power forward and second-best prospect from the Lone Star State. He picked the Wildcats over a final five list that included Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech.

He is the first five-star recruit to join Kentucky’s 2021 class and third overall prospect joining four-star guard Nolan Hickman and four-star forward Bryce Hopkins.

Collins was recruited heavily by Kentucky’s new recruiting coordinator Jai Lucas who recruited Collins while working at Texas before he joined Calipari’s staff in Lexington.

He is the third prospect to commit to Kentucky in the last eight days joining Hopkins and 2022 five-star guard Skyy Clark.
