The No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats dropped to 1-2 on the young 2020-21 season Tuesday as they fell 65-52 to the No. 7 Kansas Jayhawks in a Champions Classic matchup in Indianapolis.
Kentucky led by as many as 12 in the first half but the Jayhawks outscored the Cats by nine in the second half to earn a comeback victory.
Neither team shot the ball particularly well as UK shot just 36.1% from the field and 14.3% from behind the three-point line while the Jayhawks shot 29.9% from the field and 23.8% from three-point land.
Isaiah Jackson put together a strong performance for the Cats as he scored seven points while grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking an impressive eight shots. Brandon Boston Jr. and Davion Mintz led UK in the scoring department as each scored 12 points in the losing effort.
UK will have the next four days off before traveling to Atlanta to take on the 0-2 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at State Farm Arena.
