Tip off of the McDonald’s All American Game

Four players that will attend Kentucky next season and two still considering coming to Lexington for college played in the McDonald’s All American Game in Chicago. None of the future Cats; Quade Green, PJ Washington, Jarred Vanderbilt, or Nick Richards started. The two players still being recruited by UK; Mohamed Bamba and Kevin Knox, did start.

All 6 players were on the East Team. The final was West 109, East 107 in a back and forth game. Michael Porter Jr, who will play at Missouri next season, won the MVP with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Quade Green: 4-12 fg, 1-6 3fg, 9 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds 2 steals, 7 turnovers in 16 minutes
PJ Washington: 3-5 fg, 0-1 3fg, 7 points, 5 rebounds 3 steals, 1 assist, 1 turnover in 15 minutes
Jarred Vanderbilt: 1-2 fg, 2 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 turnovers in 13 minutes
Nick Richards: 1-2 fg, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, 1 turnover in 14 minutes

Still being recruited by UK:
Mohamed Bamba: 7-10 fg, 0-2 3fg, 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 steals, 1 turnover in 21 minutes
Kevin Knox: 7-11 fg, 1-5 3fg, 15 points 3 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal, 1 assist in 19 minutes

Quade Green

Quade Green on his leadership, “I’m the person guys listen to really, it started now.”

And on recruiting Mohamed Bamba “We trying to get Mo.”

Jarred Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt wasn’t concerned about not getting points, “I tried to let the game come to me instead of force it.”
On Bamba, “Bamba was very impressive… He is everything you want in a big man.”

PJ Washington 

Washington on the game, “It was great playing with my teammates.”
On the atmosphere, “There were a lot of jitters but it was fun.”
On Nick Richards hard foul, “No easy baskets.”
