The No. 13 Kentucky Wildcats (16-4, 6-1) will play arguably their most important game of the season to date this Saturday when they travel to the plains to take on the No. 17 Auburn Tigers (18-2, 5-2) for the first of a two-game regular season series.
All eyes will be on the contest between the SEC frontrunners as ESPN’s College Gameday will be in attendance.
The Wildcats and Tigers played each other three times last season. Kentucky swept the teams’ two-game regular season series, including a narrow 82-80 victory at Auburn Arena. Bruce Pearl’s Tigers would get their revenge in the NCAA Tournament as they defeated Kentucky in overtime of the Elite Eight to advance to their programs first ever final four.
This year both teams’ have combined to lose just three SEC games as Kentucky lost to South Carolina back on Jan. 15 while Auburn lost to both Alabama and Florida on the road. Both of Auburn’s losses were by 19 or more points.
With another challenge ahead, John Calipari, EJ Montgomery and Immanuel Quickley met with the media before taking off for the plains. Hear from all three Wildcats below courtesy of the Boot Store.
