The Kentucky Wildcats have landed a recruit that was originally committed to their arch-rivals. Four-star power forward and former Louisville Cardinal pledge Bryce Hopkins committed to Kentucky Monday evening, joining UK’s 2021 recruiting class.

Hopkins is a 6-foot-7 power forward who ranks 7th nationally at his position and as the 30th overall prospect per 247sports.

After decommitting from Louisville in early August, the Oak Park, Illinois native released a list of nine schools that included Kentucky, California, Iowa State, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Oregon, Providence and Texas.

Ever since he opted to decommit from Louisville, UK had been seen as the favorites for Hopkins and now he has officially committed to the program.

He joins four-star guard Nolan Hickman as the second commitment to Kentucky’s 2021 recruiting class, while 2022 commit five-star Skyy Clark could still reclassify to UK’s 2021 class.
