Isaiah Jackson won’t be moving far from Lexington to start his NBA career.
The former UK forward was selected 22nd overall by the Los Angels Lakers in Thursday’s 2021 NBA Draft, but a pair of trades will make him an Indiana Pacer.
The Lakers have a trade in place to send the 22nd overall pick to the Washington Wizards in a package headlined by former NBA MVP Russel Westbrook, who will be heading to Los Angeles. Washington then decided to flip the pick to Indiana in exchange for guard Aaron Holliday per a report from Shams Charania.

With Jackson’s selection, the Wildcats have produced a first-round draft choice in each of the last 11 NBA Drafts. As of Thursday, Jackson is slated to be the only UK alum on the Pacers roster.
